One of the things affected by my health problems of the last year has been the podcast I have been hosting with Nathan Beasley. We had to take a bit of a hiatus, but now are planning new episodes.
As part of this re-launch, we are thinking of broadening the focus. The podcast is titled, Philosophy and Faith, and the past 15 episodes have been a series called The History of Philosophy.
And apparently no-one is interested in this. The number of people who listen or watch has gone way down, compared to the episodes before this.
So as we re-launch we are going to broaden the scope of the podcast, and possibly re-name it. We will be considering topics like the following:
The meaning of creation ex nihilo
What Genesis says about human purpose
Pascals’ wager
What is heaven?
Do we have a soul?
Are all humans immortal?
The great difference between resurrection and immortality
What is sin?
Plato and Paul
The problem of evil?
How does prayer work if God is sovereign?
What is the occult, and why is it wrong?
Do Christians need to keep the Old Testament law?
How do we interpret Revelation?
What are the stages of spiritual growth?
How do the spiritual disciplines fit in with spiritual growth?
What things bring about spiritual growth?
What does it mean that Christ is the Second Adam?
Can we know ourselves if we don’t know God?
Knowing of versus knowing about
The logic of the atonement
How do we deal with doubt?
I wonder if you would do me a huge favor: take just a minute to peruse the list and leave a comment below on which would be most interesting or helpful to you. We will use this feedback to plan. That would be really helpful.
By the way, you can listen to past episodes on the podcast on whatever platform you use just by searching Philosophy and Faith. Or you can catch them on YouTube here.
Finally, if I had one episode from the History of Philosophy series that I think would be the most helpful it would be the one titled Plato, Dualism, and Christianity. It is impossible to really understand Christian Theology without understanding Plato. This episode gives an overview of his most important thought.
Even if you don’t like philosophy, you might find it helpful.
All mentioned topics would be of interest but the following would be most interesting to me:
- What Genesis says about human purpose
- What is sin?
- The problem of evil?
- How does prayer work if God is sovereign?
- How do we interpret Revelation?
- What are the stages of spiritual growth?
- How do the spiritual disciplines fit in with spiritual growth?
- What things bring about spiritual growth?
- The logic of the atonement
- How do we deal with doubt?
How does prayer work if God is sovereign?
